Young Guns U12 Boys Win Indoor Championship at Tri-State Sports!
For this year’s indoor session, the Young Guns were evenly divided into two teams so that each player could get more playing time. Young Guns team 1 and Young Guns team 2 met each other in the semi-finals and YG1 won 2-1. The two YG teams played each other with class and represented Ridley United well. The referee commended the boys for a game well played.
Young Guns team 1 then played BYC (a premier team) for the championship. They came back from a 2-0 deficit midway through the second half and ended up going into overtime. Though exhausted from playing back-to-back games, they pushed on and fought off strike after strike with a will not to lose. When a break went their way, they were able to muster up one last attack and victory was theirs.
The YG2 team stayed to support their comrades and enjoyed the win as if it was their own. Having previously knocked on that championship door, only to come up second made this victory a moment that every child will cherish for a long time to come. Their next goal: a Fall outdoor championship!
